The 2025 Mazda CX-70 is a spacious two-row SUV that comes with a single powertrain, — a turbocharged 3.3-liter inline six-cylinder engine that is good for 280 horsepower in the base trims. If you upgrade to the performance-oriented S trim, the engine is tuned to output 340 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque.
In addition, the SUV is a mild hybrid electric vehicle, and the mile hybrid powertrain adds a small electric motor that reduces the load on the gasoline engine and provides improved fuel efficiency. You don’t need to plug in your SUV, though there also exists an upcoming 2025 Mazda CX-70 PHEV.
Towing and All-Wheel-Drive
The 2025 Mazda CX-70 offers more than pure engine power and performance. The SUV also comes standard with the Mazda i-ACTIV® AWD system, which works in the background to deliver power to the right wheels at the right time as road conditions change due to weather or terrain.
The SUV also includes the Mi-Drive, an advanced system that switches the drive modes based on the driving conditions, road conditions, and vehicle conditions. If you choose to include available Towing Mode, the SUV can tow up to 5,000 lbs.
